Randerson 'delighted' with Committee Report on her historic private member's law.12.01.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 6th Oct 2008
Welsh Lib Dem Assembly Member Jenny Randerson AM has today spoken of her 'delight' that the Assembly Committee charged with scrutinising her Private Member's Measure on Healthy School food has supported the plans. The All-Party Committee, Chaired by Kirsty Williams advised that more strength be given to the Measure. Jenny Randerson said: "I'm delighted with the outcome of the Committee's investigations so far. As this is the first ever piece of private member's legislation in the Assembly's history, it was always going to be a learning curve and therefore I'm delighted to take the Committee's recommendations on board. "I hope I am not overstating things when I say how greatly honoured I feel to be the first AM to go through this process. At this stage, I must pay tribute to the work of the Committee in scrutinising the general principles of my ideas as well as the work of all the Assembly staff who have been involved. "I look forward immensely to the next stages of the process." Notes: 1. The Committee report was released under embargo today. 2. The Proposed Measure and Explanatory Memorandum can be found at http://www.assemblywales.org/bus-home/bus-legislation/bus-leg-measures/bus-legislation-meas-hes.htm 3. With the Assembly's approval, the Committee will now begin line by line scrutiny of the proposed Measure. Ends/
