Commenting on figures showing an increase in the number of patients opting for tooth extractions rather than paying for expensive treatments, Welsh Lib Dem Health Spokesperson and outspoken critic of the new dental contract, Jenny Randerson AM said:
"These are huge falls in treatment, with root fillings and crown-work halving since before the contract came into effect. For the Government to claim that this is a success is cheap spin without substance. People are abandoning their oral health because they cannot afford it."
