Nurse Training Announcement - Randerson comment12.00.00am GMT Tue 19th Feb 2008 Commenting on the announcement on nurse training numbers, Welsh Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, Jenny Randerson, has warned the Minister that the training places will need backing up with pressure on NHS Trusts to take advantage of them. Jenny Randerson said: "Obviously, we all want more community nurses and these figures are particularly welcome after the Labour Assembly Government's cut in numbers of 17% in 2007. However, I am concerned that there is no guarantee that NHS Trusts will take up the places that have been announced as Community Nurses can cost them much more money. "This is why the Community Nursing Strategy is such an important element in all this, without it, there is nothing to guarantee they will be useful or make a difference at all." Notes: Ends/
