Jenny Randerson has long argued for the sorts of changes due to be announced today

Commenting ahead of today's statement on the Delivery of Emergency Care strategy, Welsh Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, Jenny Randerson AM has welcomed much of what will be announced, despite the length of time it has taken.

Jenny Randerson said: "This announcement has been overdue for years, but we welcome it, however late. I am particularly pleased about the plans for urgent-care centres which are a form of the walk-in centres that the Welsh Liberal Democrats have been campaigning for many years.

"For the aims of this announcement to be met, a strong strategy must be put in place. It will require extra resources, both in terms of staff and money and I will be questioning the Minister closely to ensure that the strategy will provide these."
