Jenny asks for more help for Cardiff A&E

Cardiff and Vale A&E Department has the lowest percentage of patients spending less than 4 hours in A&E. 82.6% of patients spend less than 4 hours in A&E in Cardiff and the Vale compared to an all Wales figure of 91.6%. Health spokesperson and Cardiff AM Jenny Randerson said

"I know that Cardiff and Vales Trust does a fantastic job in difficult conditions but is clear from these figures that it needs more support. Every day thousands of people pour into Cardiff from outside the area and inevitably put extra pressure on the health services.

"The current formula has not been allowed to take account of all the extra pressures that the capital city is under. Almost everybody in Wales passes through Cardiff at some point so a little extra help is needed"
