Jenny Randerson - Standing up for Cardiff Central

Randerson's Fear over 700 Patient Recall

3.56.45pm GMT Wed 31st Jan 2007

Up to 700 patients, mainly from Cardiff, are being 'recalled' in order to check for complications in their knee and hip surgery. It follows concern that an unusually high number of patients treated at the Weston Centre in Somerset have experienced problems.

Local Cardiff AM Jenny Randerson said "I just hope that in the rush to reduce waiting lists quality healthcare has not been forgotten and that this is not indicative of a wider problem.

"It is a worrying time for those who have recently had an operation through this second offer scheme.

"I have written to the Health Minister to ask for an oral statement as a matter of urgency."
