Randerson Excited About PET Scanner

3.53.22pm GMT Wed 24th Jan 2007

From 2008 Welsh cancer patients will be able to have their PET scans in Cardiff instead of trekking to London or Cheltenham thanks to a £16 million medical scanner.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson Jenny Randerson AM said "I know that commuting to London is a taxing enough experience without the stress and worry of going for a scan. This will make a big difference in making people's treatment less stressful.

"It is just a shame that brachytherapy is not given a fraction of the same level of support."
