Jenny Randerson - Standing up for Cardiff Central

SIMON HUGHES MEETS CARDIFF STUDENTS

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 29th Sep 2006

Simon Hughes, the Liberal Democrat Party President is planning to address a group of students at Cardiff University on Saturday 30th September.

The meeting is part of Simon's tour of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, and it will allow him to hear concerns about the introduction of Top up Fees for English students studying in Wales, Civil Liberties and Terrorism.

Simon Hughes will be joined by Jenny Randerson, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Cardiff Central, who represents the seat with the largest percentage of students in Wales.

Jenny Randerson AM commented, "I'm delighted that Simon Hughes has come to talk to Cardiff students about the issues that matter them. As a former Shadow Home Secretary, Simon knows a lot about civil liberties and the problems Labour's ID card scheme would cause. On the subject of Top up Fees, Simon was a leading campaigner in the fight against their implementation and he is still campaigning to scrap them."
