Commenting that a number of local hospitals in North Wales have been recommended for downgrading, Jenny Randerson commented:

"Hospital services in North Wales badly need restructuring to provide the appropriate care, but I am concerned that the Labour Government is going about this the wrong way.

"The communities served by Llandudno, HM Stanley and Abergele hospital need to see a boost in primary care services such as GP and community healthcare, before these hospitals are downgraded.

"The Labour Health Minister Brian Gibbons needs to tread carefully. Labour's back-to-front restructuring plan must not leave local people without access to primary care."
